Chongqing's river cableway was built in 1987 to get workers across the Yangtze. The city grew enormous around it, and the cabin now floats over a canyon of towers, the Jialing and Yangtze rivers meeting below like a liquid crossroads.
Ride it both ways at dusk. The queue moves fast, and the view - brutalist megacity above, rivers below - is one of a kind.
Best for: The commute that became a monument.
