Ningbo Old Bund
Ningbo, Ningbo
The Bund that predates Shanghai's - a century of waterfront, now Ningbo's best dinner address.
Ningbo's old Bund is older than Shanghai's: treaty-port warehouses along the Yong River that have become a strip of seafood restaurants and bars. The waterfront tables are the draw, with the city's famous drunken crab and red-sauced river fish.
Go at sunset for the river light, order the drunken crab (an acquired, excellent taste), and finish with the caramelized sweet potato dessert the city invented.
Best for: Ningbo's older-than-Shanghai waterfront, seafood at sunset.
